Default Ice cream van in the bush in true Aussie style!

Well I thought I had seen it all, until yesterday while in the middle of our block chopping a dead tree down, water had got to critical level and we started hearing music, but not any music it was greensleeves on an ice cream van, we figired heat exhaustion had hit and ignored it but it seemed to get louder and louder, and then knock me down with a choc flake but a vision in pink and cream drove slowly past the top of our block, we yelled and waved our arms and he quickly turned into the driveway and came and said hi!!!
Then he said you never know what you will find in the bush, well I can honestly say I was not expecting a mr whippy van with all the trimmings.

Isn't Aussie life just full of surprises?

Personally, I wish someone would play a different tune, but it's too well known that if you hear "Greensleaves" it's the just got to be the ice-cream van.

You haven't heard the one that comes round our area mid-afternoon then - sounds like either the tolling of the plague bell or a very old and tired rag and bones mans bell.
If I'm having a bad day I get an image of "Bring out your dead", if it's a good day I can just imagine Steptoe coming up the street

The icy vans in south Sydney that hang around Cronulla and the Royal National Park look like...well err...they should be pushed over the cliff. So knackered and rusty...but hey still old Pepe is there handing out his 99's --- good on him.

My wife and I think a great job in NSW would be setting up a greasey spoon or road side cafe in one of the busy highway rest areas --- but I beleive there is a law against road side trading in NSW??

There is bound to be some law - after all there is a law, rule, permit or colour for bl**dy everything.

Not seen it for a while but a few times we were down at our local beach, and across the water (down the creek) came a tinny, playing music, and stopping by swimmers, selling ice blocks I was amazed at how many people had money in their pockets whilst swimming, let alone the number of people who suddenly flocked to the water

To stop the kids begging for an Icecream everytime "Greensleeves"
drifts through the air, we tell them the music means he's sold out!

You've got to be cruel to be kind.
