What a fab thread .. we're a million miles from being there but after reading all your posts I'd crawl on my hands and knees those million miles to sample your descriptions for myself!

Counting down to the Emigration show at Sandown (18-20 March 05) cos after that we're gonna decide if we can/should definitely take the emigration plunge!

The rules are the rules..fine but it is a bit galling when we are ready and able to pay in full and in one hit the fee's for the Contributary Parent visa, that we must wait another 2 years!

. . . it doesn't have as many Chavs, football hooligans chucking coins at players and since leaving Oz nearly 12 months ago, I now see it with fresh perspective and looking forward to coming back.

I will also apologise to you.
However there have been lots of posts on here from people complaining about 'Asylum seekers', immigrants to the UK etc and TBH they are usually based on prejudice and ignorance. Some of us take offence at this and will say so.
Let us hope we can start again.
If I can be of any assistance I will try and help.
I have the visa but am still in the UK and probably will be for a while yet.
Best wishes

I have to echo Badge - it just feels 'right' - I feel so comfortable - beautiful country; friendly helpful, happy people. Less hassle to do things and get things done by others.

… the word spruiker is a fantastic description of a slimy smarmy salesman.
… farmers can put their produce by their gates with honesty boxes (I presume their continued use means that they are not getting nicked).
