I dont know where to ask this
I am going to Australia on an ETA and then applying with Sydney via DCF for a spousal visa. I will be there for a few months and I have a question a little off topic for anyone who may know.. Is my prescription valid in Australia if it is from my US Doctor? She didnt know the answer and I have to have them refilled once a month.

I don't know your answer but perhaps your spouse could ask a couple of local pharmacists if they would accept the US prescription?

Not sure about the US, but regarding British ones I was told, when on holiday there, to take a prescription so they could see what the drugs were called, and then an Aussie doctor would have to issue a prescription to be filled over there.

Usually you can get enough filled here in the States to last you for
your trip. If you don't want to do that you may need to see a doctor
there who would then write you one that is good there. That is our
experience when going to Canada.

Hi Burlington,
I am doing the exact same thing you are. I am married to a New Zealander who as automatic right to live in Australia and i am entering Aus on a ETA.
We are currently living in Auckland NZ.
I am a diabetic and i asked my local parmacy about my prescriptions. She told me that i can get 3mths supply to take with me.
Is it not the same in USA?

No. Not anymore than a US pharmacy would take an Australian prescription.
