I have decided i am not having anymore pets. I cant really cope with all the heartache. We still have our dog but no more pets in the future. I dote on them far too much, mainly as my kids and family are so far away. I treat them like my chilren. Silly old moo i guess.

This must've happened after I went off to bed. Sooo sorry flutter. Plant a little tree where you've buried him, and whenever you see it, it'll remind you of all his wee antics. I've had to leave a cat..(wasn't allowed to take it to new house)..which broke my heart, but I've never lost one and I worry how I'll react.
karma on its way if it'll let me.
fellow cat lover :(

so so sorry to hear this- poor little thing- at least he is at peace now- he doesnt need to be in the house, or buried right now, he knows he is loved I am sure of it- like other have said, sit down and have a good cry but try to smile as you remember what a lovely pet he was and how he would want you do that rather than cry.

That's what my Mum used to say, -every time! bless her. I'm so, so sorry to come on here today and find this thread Flutter. I'm glad you were able to give him a grand burial and hold him and talk to him one last time. I love my two so much (that's why I come third ;) ) so I can understand your heartache. Never say never. One day a stray little kitten might wander into your garden, bedraggled and hungry, and your heart will be lost again, captive like a little bird...Be kind to yourself. Also maybe check out www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html and have a bl**dy good cry. Lots of love to you at this time. TopCats 1,2 and 3
