On a similar theme does anybody know if I can still open a bank account in London with Commonwealth?
Will need a Aussie account when I have to transfer money across.
Can anybody give me a number or web address that will help?

Indeed I can.
The telephone number for Commonwealth Bank is 02077103990.
You will be able to speak to somebody about opening an account although they will need certified copies of your passport and stuff.
They will let you know though.
