How long before you go?
#1
Just wondered how many are in the we can go in 200? group or eve then 20?? group.
Hopefully we'll be going 2008 and it seems ages away
. But could even end up 2009, so many things to sort out before we go but way too much time to sort it out.
I know we're not alone in this group so I'd like to hear from others in similar situations and find out how you cope with the this is only temporary lifestyle I'm trying to become accustomed to

we validated our visas Sept 2004, and due to various hiccups have had to delay our departure. We have now decided to make our move over in the early part of 2007. Sometimes I feel that because we have had to put it off for so long we've lost some of the drive to get things done and sorted out. I've found that by setting a date to go it has now changed how we think. Now we have to get our plans together and start working towards our deadline. It's too easy just to drift along when you have a long wait. I've just started a new job which I don't like, but I bear in mind it is only temporary now and it is part of the plan that will help to see us on our way. Much as I do like living here, I so can't wait to move. I now enjoy and appreciate each day here, knowing that this time next year we will be in Australia. Hardest part is reading about all those who have made it over and are enjoying the adventure. Envious is not the word! Can't wait to post our "we are here"

you live in limbo don't you - I want a new garden bench but hubby said not to bother as it'll be less to squeeze into the container and even when I said we needed a new bed sheet he said not to worry we'd manage till we got there! Awful really as we haven't even submitted any forms yet!
Mind you we're still hoping to be there this year! Reccie booked for 3 weeks!

It's taken me months to get all the niggly little things sorted out. I though I was ready in November, but as it turned out, I'm only just about ready now. And I still havn't sorted out my student loan. They really are a useless shower of morons.
I'm glad that I stayed to do it - I had rebates from my TV licence, Counil tax and home insurance which amounted to over £500!!! so don't just cancel those direct debits - Sort them out properly, as it may well be worth it...
Anyway, I'm hoping to get out in mid June, when after spending some quality time with my folks.

Could have waited a couple of years ourselves to sort out stuff but thought stuff it instead, rather be there. Besides my tan has faded from last year!!

We are planning on going in Spring 2007 and it feels like a lifetime away, and we keep doing the 'well theres no point in doing the garden etc etc because we won't be here to make use of it' thing too.

I know what you mean, it's worse for me cos I don't even know when I'm going except that it'll be before November.

Me too.
It's sooooo crap, I hate it. I thought waiting for the visa was bad, but this is a hundred times worse, cos we could go at any time, but don't have the money
