How long is it...?

Hee Hee, thought that would grab your attention
How long is it (once you're over in Oz) before you stop converting Aussie dollars back into the currency you've always used. 'Cos when you go on holiday anywhere you spend half your time converting the prices back so you know you're not getting ripped off for anything. So generally how long does it take? I can imagine me spending hours in the supermarket converting everything and before I know it my chicken's defrosted and there's a lovely puddle of ice cream on the floor
Just one of the stupid things I ask myself while sitting on here
I really need to get a life

You could always try a novel idea and start converting prices into Aussie Dollars before you leave, that way you'll have a comparison the other way round when you get here lol (confused.....I am hehe)
Takes a while, I'd say it really depends on when you start working. All the time you're spending money that was earned in pounds then converting and comparing prices seems a sane thing to do. Once you start earning Dollars there's no point, that's about the point you suddenly realise 'Blimey, I've really done it, I am actually living in Australia'
Of course it's always fun to convert petrol prices back into pounds shillings n pence and then make a point of mentioning it every time you speak to someone in the UK ( did I mention it was 46p/ltr for unleaded today
)
