Default How to follow up to speed up my immigration application for australian visa

I have submitted all my requirements for an immigration application for an Australian Visa. Everytime I follow up my status regarding my application thru my immigration lawyer its a usual reply "you have to wait until further notice." What shall I do or whom shall I contact to follow up to speed up my application process? Would it hinders or slow my application if I kept on following up? I know the waiting peroid would takes one year the earliest but since December 2002 I havnt hear any development regarding my immigration application for Australian Visa. If I change my application where I am applying it as an Independent Skilled Worker, would it helps to make the processing faster? Hoping to hear any comments.

Hi

the general feeling tends to be that if you keep chasing up your application with ASPS this will cause delays.

Try to concentrate on something else and time will pass quicker. You cannot speed up your application. If you could, then everyone would do this. Try to be patient.

Good luck

Mel

They wont process it any quicker if you start pestering them. I had to wait about 18 months for my Skilled indepentdant visa to come through because i submited it in Sept 2001, and they then moved all processing to Adeladie so i went to the bottom of the queue buried under all the red tape. Just wait and kept your fingers crossed. Concentrate on finding out as much about Australia as you can to help you when you arrive.

Good luck

Pete

I got fed up waiting for mine so in the end came out on a buisiness visa and then when i got here i rang and asked how my application was going as I wanted to buy a house and the lovely man asked me what my number was and he looked up my file and as all was there ie medicals etc and also as they had just started to fast track nurses, he said leave it with me and 1 hour later he emailed me and said he had processed it and I had to leave the country with in 40 days to collect it so what a shame we had to go to Bali. Some times it does pay to give them a ring and be really nice to them. My case worker still emails me now for a chat on life etc.
Good luck Paula
