Default House went on market today. 4 viewings booked for tomorrow!!

We have both taken this week off work to get the house decorating finished ready to go on the market next week. We rang the estate agent at the beginning of the week and asked for her to come round but explained that we were not quite ready to receive viewers. She phoned the very next day and said that she had 2 people interested who both wanted to move in by Christmas. She hadn't even valued it at this point!!

We then had the worry of finding that our immediate neighbour opposite had put their house on the market. Good news, within a week theirs has sold, they have accepted an offer today £400 short of the asking price. This means that we no longer have them in competition with us.

We have been frantically doing everything that needed doing ie: building front retaining wall, shingling front garden, buiding steps to front door, painting kitchen, hallway, conservsatory, back lobby, bathroom. Alas we still have not had time to re-plaster the smallest bedroom prior to painting and everything from there is in the second bedroom so we have two bedrooms that don't quite look on par but hey, lets see how we get on tomorrow.

I am feeling very positive.

Buzzy.
We are on the Surrey/Hampshire border. We live within the catchment of the top state schools in the country but we don't have a big house. That is the advantage. Most houses around us are HUGE and so anyone buying those can afford to send their kids wherever they want. We live in one of the few affordable houses in the area and usually get snapped up quite quickly. I just hope that we aren't a bit too late for this years admission applications.

Ok. We have put ours on for £10,000 more than our neighbour did as we felt that they had underpriced their house. One up the road sold for another £25,000 than theirs within a week. Prats! (opposite that is, not up the road)
