House sold !

House sold !
Well after recieving our Visa in June of this year we have finally sold the house !
We hope to be in Australia by the end of October, however a few things are still keeping my mind on overtime.
Exactly where to live !? GC or South Brisbane and we have looked at so many suburbs its untrue.
Do we rent a holiday apartment when we arrive or a motel, until we find a long term let ?
Where do the BE's meet up so maybe we can grab a few friends when we get there ?
What am I going to do for work ?!!! I am a web designer although worked in banking for 13 years. (I know its last on the list but who wants to work !)
I know you all have your own worries but anyone that feels they have experiences to answer my questions or just any advice as we near the the adventure, please throw them up here. Either leaving the UK or if you are already in the GC , Sth Briz area.

Congratulations on selling your house. We are flying out to Brissy on 27th Oct from Manchester, for a validation holiday, perhaps we will see you there!
We have booked into the Gateway holiday village for 3 weeks.

Just waiting for contracts getting nervous about the house falling through, we only sold 2 weeks ago !
How long from offer to contract exchange are most peeps experiencing ?

from offer to exchange is down to how hard you kick the solicitor
as they are usually responsible for any delays
