Hi there,

I'm a professional woman in my 40s and coming over to Aus on a reccy trip in November, staying for about 6 months. I've visited a few times as I have friends in Sydney and love it more with each visit. As this will be a much longer trip I'm looking into my options for accommodation, I could rent a flat but it's quite expensive in the Sydney area and also quite committing as I'd be tied into rental agreements etc, there's also the problem that I might have to furnish it only to have to unfurnish it later.

Another option I've been looking at is house sitting, has anyone had any experience or even know anyone who may need a house sitter in the Syndey area from November onwards? I intent to register with a couple of house sitting services but I though I might get some more practical advice here.

I'm not tied to Sydney it's just that I have friends there so it's a good place to base myself, it does help that it's beautiful.

Any other suggestions or general advice would be gratefully received.

Not sure how this ended up in the Meet-ups forum, not used to the site yet, meant to post it in the Australia forum, if anyone can help me get it moved over there that would be helpful.
