Just saw this about house prices in Auckland and around.

Auckland house prices slipped slightly but the national house price level reached a high, statistics released yesterday show.

Real Estate Institute figures for last month show Auckland prices dropped from $290,000 in April to $289,000 in May, but institute national president Graeme Woodley said that was not particularly significant because volumes were up.

Wasn't the dip just for Auckland City property. I thought places like the North Shore actually increased in value?

Your right, wasn't posting to be controversial, just to give a link to story which gave average prices for Auckland property (and surrounding areas).

I don't believe Auckland property is going anywhere but up but thats just my opinion.

I agree. Prices seem pretty static at the moment. Read in the Herald that there are still more people arriving here than leaving which should stabalise the market.
