Default hotel in sydney ???

hi guys

off on our reccie trip in feb - need a hotel in sydney for the 1st couple of nights while we sort out car etc.
Has anyone got any recommendations - got 3 young kids doesn't have to be 1st class but generally an easy location to find after a 24 hour journey
thanx

Hi I replied in an earlier thread about the Waldorf apartment hotel - near to darling harbour, china town, paddy's market and the chinese gardens.

you can get the monorail from nearby and a ferry to circular quay. the apartments are a good size, with kitchen, laundy and we had 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms. a balcony and there is a car park. swimming pool - though this is onthe roof and can at times be windy (unless it was only windy when we were there!!!)

Hi,Just booked our reccie trip for April, have used trailfinders and they were bloody superb, try the comfort inn cambridge or the crown plaza, darling harobour, suggest you go through trailfinders as I tried to book hotels in Sydney and couldn't get such good rates as they offered, hope this helps.

We have stayed twice at 'The Old Holiday Inn, Sydney' and would highly recommend it. It is located right in the centre of The Rocks area, that is the old part, below the bridge and close to Circular Quay. It is ideal for the railway if you want to save on a taxi, and is still easy to find by car. Plenty of places to eat close to the hotel and very safe part of Sydney. Rates not too bad. Try checking out www.tripadvisor.com for other reviews.
We will stay at the Hotel on our next visit. Hope this helps.
