Hot Melbourne summers
How comfortable is the tempreture in Melbourne in summer? Do most public buildings, in particular schools, have (or need) air conditioning?
Thanks

It gets up around 40 degrees, too hot for me to be outside!
Most places have air conditioning so it isn't so bad inside. Some days you have the added bonus of smoke hanging over the city which isn't pleasant either.

A few years ago it looked like black snow! Very rare though.
I found the climate like the UK, but hotter summers. Or like NZ but more extreme (hotter in summer, colder in winter, depending where you are of course).
Melbourne is a great city. I really loved it there. Great compromise I think between the smaller cities, and Sydney. Fantastic restaurants at the Casino as well!
