It was humid and very still last night. There's going to be a lot of grouchy commuters on city rail stations.

Its getting warm again in QLD. At 8am today it was 29C on the Bayside. The Air Con went back on this weekend
My daughter asked for a Jumper before she would get out of bed today, we had the Air Con down to a freezing 19C !! And it did feel cold, but I still can't fathom it out. 19C in the UK is warmish isn't it ?

From the Charlie thread in the Lounge.

It is the humidity and lack of a sea breeze that makes this heat uncomfortable. There was a bloody mozzie as well last night. You know how it buzzes around keeping you awake and then it goes silent. Then you start to itch. Sea breezes normally take care of the bastards.

Anyway I will try not to be grouchy today.

statistically from bom.gov i think url is, ,+ i was reading in some aussie journal, 2003 was driest and hottest on record since 79 i think ! perhaps 2004 is gonna be more of the same.

Strange fact some ppl may not know, the ozone layer in Oz is thinner than anywhere in the world i believe, and apart from the heat the UV really is a danger for everyone, except that old bird outts " someat about mary" lmao

The humidity has been very high over the past few days here in Brisbane - 92 percent my neighbour was saying yesterday. We went out yesterday and got back in the car - 44 degrees it showed, and then dropped to 36 degrees after we had turned the aircon on and had the engine running.

Straight back home for a cold shower - it was great!

Billy, I dont care if I start a war, I hate it. Detest just doesnt have quite the same ring to it, Patrick can bite me .

ABC, I dont think it was as bad, this started the end of Jan (high humidity & high heat) & hasnt let up yet. Its almost always the same in Feb (highest humidity, my least fav month by along way), but it usually only lasts about 2-3 weeks (1st week feb til about the last week) before we get a good break & with a couple of cooler days thrown in. Last year we had not long moved down here & I remember enjoying how much cooler it was. Ths year - no hope!
