Default Hong Kong stopover

Hi all,

We are planning to have a couple of nights stopover in Hong Kong. We've never been before (normally via Singapore) any suggestions for a mid range hotel close to main area - don't mind using public transport.

Many thanks in advance!

We did a stop over in Hong Kong March and had a fabulous time. I would advise against staying in Kowloon as we found it too touristy and full of hawkers. Great for a night out, but nice to get on the ferry/underground and get back to Hong Kong Island which was much more your every day life.

Not sure what you mean by medium priced but we found all the hotels to be expensive. In the end we stayed at;

It was pricey but very nice with great views and right next to shopping/eating/underground station. We used the tube for getting about and it only cost us a few pounds a day. For lunch we bought chinese savoury buns from the station bakeries which were excellent and only cost a couple of pounds for the whole family. Ditto riding the Star ferries, they cost a few pounds.

The people were really friendly, the city is clean and easy to get around, you will have a great time.

We had a 4 night stopover in Hong Kong on our way over. Fantastic city. We stayed in the Western District in Hotel Jen, reasonably priced I think compared to some others. Staff very helpful, friendly.

Hope you have a good time

The YMCA Salisbury on Kowloon. Upgrade to harbour view room. Excellent location, good facilities, reasonably priced. I'd definitely stay there again.

Hello,

We are doing a 5 day stopover in November and are staying at the following hotels;

http://www.resort.com.hk/

http://www.sino-hotels.com/Island_Pa...n/default.aspx

We got great deals on both hotels - check out Trip Advisor for the best deals!

Good luck!
