Holiday home rentals in Cairns
When resorts quote $225 per night for 2 bedroom apartment, is it per person I hope not . Looking at going to Cairns for a week. Any suggestions on good hotels/resorts/holiday homes most welcome and gratefully received!
Also any advise on travelling by train from Brisbane to Melbourne? Thanks
We plan to fly directly to Brisbane, spend a week there, then to Melbourne.
Cheers

Thanks a ton Kiwichild!!. We are going only in June, but Australia is HUGE, so would like to plan our holiday properly! Planning is equally fun!!
We plan to go by Emirates, which flies non stop to Brisbane. Will spend about 10 days Brisbane& Cairns, then about 2 weeks in Melbourne.

Thanks.
Plan to spend about a week in Brisbane June 16-21. Then take the train 'Sunlander' to Cairns. Was happy paying $398 for a first class ticket (berth), only to find out today that from 1Apr06 they have done away with first class, and only offer Queenslander class at $ 725 per head
Plan to spend 7 days in Cairns (23 - 29/6).
Now, have to carefully plan the accomodation in Brisbane (self catered like you said) and Cairns, and also things to see and do there.
Now if anyone wants authentic, and I mean authentic Indian cuisine (not the tame UK/Aussie version ) in Brisbane then let me know, we could meet up at the holiday home and we shall treat you
