Smile Hiya ppl

Just wanted to say hiya.

Only discovered this site yesterday Wish I had come across it b4. Spent ages trawlling through loadsa stuff and its answered alot of my questions.

Basically we have DIYed our application. Yes it has taken ages but its gone back to adelaide (5 Aug) and now the waiting AARRGHH!! Yes its killing me! The visa payment went out 2 weeks ago so I know its got there (huge relief!)

The thing is we have the TRA, we have a sponsor (who is also going to assure us) and everything stacks up would it be ok to presume we will get through?? It seems, after reading through other threads, that the TRA is the biggest obstacle. My hubby doesnt want to build his hopes up at this stage. If anyone can help? Yes its been time consuming and frustrating doing all the paperwork ourselves and its taken us ages but we only have a very small budget! Also does ne1 no when we can expect requests for meds, etc am I being impatient?!!
Thanks, Cheeky xxxx

Can't help you, we are after a spouse visa. Just wanted to say welcome to the asylum. Yes the lunatics have taken over but everyone (sort of) is very nice and you will become obsessed.

Someone will give you all the info you want, but this is often coming up so you could try a search.

All the best.

Hi Cheeky and welcome. Probably fairly safe to say you're well on the way to getting your visa as skills assessment is the hardest part, unless you've got a criminal record as long as your arm!! Looks like the people who applied after July 1st are getting called pretty quick for meds and police checks so your application will probably only take a few months more. Lucky you - we applied mid February but there seems to be no move on pre July applicants??

Where are you hoping to move to? Keep us posted.

Hi Cheeky,

Welcome to the forum!

Are you applying for a class 139 visa? I think many people have had these approved in around 6 months; mine took 10 months last year but I had to defer the medicals for 4 months.

Where are you heading?

Hi CK2B

Thanks for reply. No we havent got a criminal record I think you may be right after reading through some of the threads similar to mine it does seem applications are going through quicker (just need some reassurance!!)

We were thinking of Brisbane but from what Ive read about it on here it sounds bit too hot and humid. Perth looks good but what about these Huntsman spiders? :scared: B4 I came on here they were the 2 'favourites' now what am I gonna do!! Plenty more places to choose from, who cares just get me outta ere!!

Cya, Cheeky

PS where are you after heading??

The thing is we have the TRA, we have a sponsor (who is also going to assure us) and everything stacks up would it be ok to presume we will get through?? It seems, after reading through other threads, that the TRA is the biggest obstacle. My hubby doesnt want to build his hopes up at this stage. If anyone can help? Yes its been time consuming and frustrating doing all the paperwork ourselves and its taken us ages but we only have a very small budget! Also does ne1 no when we can expect requests for meds, etc am I being impatient?!!
Thanks, Cheeky xxxx [/QUOTE]

Hi Cheeky,

Welcome to the site, I am also addicted!

We are at the the stage where our application is now in the hands of DIMIA.
We have been through the TRA and the waiting is nightmare. I am applying on the Independant Skilled 136 ( I`m a hairdresser) so I know what you are going through. We took the option of going through an agent mainly for our peace of mind, making sure everything was correct.
Hopefully you will here something soon.

Good luck

Hi Cheeky,

I'm biased, I admit, but I'm heading for Adelaide on 7 September. My sister lives there and I've been over three times and really enjoyed it. If you want to know more you could take a look here:

Thanks Elaine for the tip will take a look.
Wow 7 Sept eh? Bet it feels really weird now its all happening.
Once (if) we get our visas through we are going out there to take a good look around. We will go to Brisbane first (my sponsor lives there and has offered to put us up). Then take internal flights to Perth to visit some family who will have just migrated there and then, (phew!) who knows. In reality though were we live will depend on were the work is as my hubbys job is fairly specialised. Will have to wait and see!!
