I got a confused look when I was at the Coles checkout and the lady asked if I wanted cash and I asked for 40 pounds :rolleyes: She looked at me and then said "you've not been here long have you" :D

Also had a bit of difficulty trying to get strimmer cord :eek: That one went on for a while :o

well we had a funny experience when we first arrived,but we didnt understand why until a few weeks later :rolleyes:
we needed to connect our computers up to the net,and being a multi computer family needed a router to do this.....................i know your laughing now...............yes you guessed it :rolleyes: we went into a computer store and asked for a router,pronounced rooter,and the oldish bloke gave us such a filthy look :confused: and said i beg your pardon,a router we said...blank look......so we had to point to one.oh a modem he said,and theres us thinking well it says clear as day router on the box :confused: he was extremely off with us even though we bought the damn thing.
It wasnt until weeks later a friend came round who had just started a new job in a office and she sais she had such a laugh at work the other day at her expense i might add.....she had lost something and announced to the office the she d have a root round in her draw for it,and the whole office apparently fell about laughing....................she told us this story and we looked at he real blank like,she then went on to explain that root or rooting in this country means shag.............omg.....we realised then why the bloke in th computer store gave us such a filthy look...we d only gone in and asked him for a shag :scared: .............not my type thats for sure.

Me: “Can you tell me where I can get a kettle?”
Shop assistant: “A what?”
Me: “A kettle”
SA: “Sorry. A what?”
Me: “A kettle”
SA “A what?”
Me: “A kettle – surely you know what a kettle is.”
SA calls her colleague over “Ask her”
Me: “Look, I just want to know where I can get a kettle”
SAs look at each other with blank looks.
Me: “Oh for goodness sake – you know a KETTLE…boils water. Make tea from it”
SA “Oh you mean a KIDDLE. I thought you were looking for CATTLE”
