His friends remembered
My 'baby' was 14 yesterday.
A huge envelope was delivered, and it contained a massive birthday card from all of his friends at Admiral Lord Nelson School in Portsmouth. All the kids in year 9 had signed the card, all saying just how much they missed him. Bearing in mind it is almost a year since he left the school.
I had tears in my eyes, and Jake was also 'emotional'.
I know he is a very special kid, but for his old mates to remember him......that just confirms it.

Very quiet boy is Jake.......not like his older brother whom drives us insane.
He sat and read every message, then put the card away without sayingf a word. I often wonder what goes on in his mind. I asked him if he needed a 'chat' or if he wanted to go somewhere nice, just me and him, but he declined.
Boy, does he make me proud of him.

Ahhhh, cool!
I got a big card when I left year 9 in Oz to go back to Australia(also 14yo), and I still have it, I love it! (including the jokes about me moving to Amsterdam and being able to smoke lots of dope 
). I remained in contact with 4 friends over the last 8 years, and two I see again regulary now(other one lives in Adelaide, and other one is travelling). The contact was minimal at times, but then I visited Oz again, two of them went travelling around the world and came to see me, and now I'm back here! Ahhh, you never know what could happen.
(though you obviously don't want him moving back to the UK at 22, leaving you behind, like I did(opposite) to my parents...
) Ok, I'll shut up now

All his friends managed to get his cards here on time...just a shame his aunts and uncles aren't that organised!
