Default Hire Purchase/Rental of a new television

Hi we are on a 457 visa. We want to buy or rent a television (using either Hire purchase or a rental agreement).

I have been looking around and most credit criteria requires that you are a permanent resident or a citizen. We are neither (on temp visa)!

So I just thought I would check in here to see if anyone on this site is on a 457 and has hp or a rental agreement for a television? If so who is it with?

Another thing, If the credit criteria requires the applicant to be a permanent resident, how would the credit company know if the applicant was or wasnt??

Many Thanks in advance

Gina

You are 100% certain to pay a lot for that kind of agreement - why not just pay cash for the television. Saving up for it, if necessary.
