Re: Help with WA employment law
No experience of Australian law, I'm afraid, but agree with the others who said get out before it destroys you.
I worked for a bully in Singapore where there is practically no employee protection. I was on a fixed term contract and couldn't leave before the end of it even though he was paying me later and later (and yes, I DID take legal advice). In the end I left, worked out my 6 months unpaid gardening leave (restraint of trade is enforceable in Singapore) and went to work for his biggest competitor (in a specialised industry with only 3 players).
Ironically I got an e-mail a few weeks ago (7 years after leaving) asking if I'd like to do some freelance work for him.
I politely declined. I could have told him where to stick it, but I wouldn't lower myself to his level. The best revenge is me being happy, which I am.
All the best, OP, hope it works out for you.

Re: Help with WA employment law
The OP appears to be experiencing the extreme end of bullying. I haven't come across something of such severity myself or heard of reports from others.
That boss is a pschopath of the first order and sounds like he requires treatment. He should never be in a position around people at any rate.
I wonder if that is how he treats all his employees or has he got it in for the OT?
Hope we get some feed back on what happened anyway.
All I can say to other comments that have never experienced bullying and to be clear it comes in different forms then count yourself lucky.
It can be planned as well in the sense that they want to get someone out of the firm by pressing the right buttons and getting a reaction from that person had be termed gross mis conduct.
It is not an Oz/Uk thing on my part but does in my experience reflect a parochial WA way of things, so make of that what you want.

Re: Help with WA employment law
reading your experience sure made my blood boil!
As an recipient of school bullying, I can't handle it, not even read about it - makes me sick to my stomach!
Oh goodness, someone would have to hold me back from getting revenge! I remember once at my first job many moons ago when I was only a teen, someone was so nasty to me, so I put a piece of cheese on her desk and the next morning, her desk was full of mouse and roach droppings that sure made me gleeful
In your case, you may want to take out a tape recorder of the bastage while he's yelling and later post it up on youtube, name it "the evil boss from hell" (something that will attract many viewers) - maybe post it on twitter - along with the company name - somewhere where it will attract attention - then forward the link to him and the whole dam office for that matter - the president even - demand a written apology from the heart if he wants it taken down - the bastage! Are these people out of their blinkin' minds? They cannot get away from this behavior, no they can't and they shouldn't!
Take to the streets! Take to the streets! Take to the streets!
***Sigh*** - alright so now that I got that out of my system, I think I'm back to normal now.
