Default Help with Short Term Accomodation and a Dog!

Hey everyone,
We are getting a house built in Pimpama and it will be ready for between March 6th and March 20th 2007. We are going to need someplace to stay for around a month in either the Brisbane or Gold Coast area from 20th Feb until house completion. There's just the two of us, but we have our beloved pooch with us also. We realise we could put her in kennels and that would probably make renting much easier, but we don't want to put her back in kennels when she's just out of four weeks quarantine.
We have looked on www.seqrents.com.au and have also asked at Manhattan on Newstead apartments, but no luck thus far. The problem seems to be that most who allow pets want a minimum of 6 months rental.
Anyone know of anywhere or could make any suggestions as to what we can do in this situation?
Thanks in advance
Tracy

Got an idea!

We will need a rental early March and also have a couple of dogs, if you rent a house in the Bayside area we could take over your rent in march.

Just a thought, if you think it might work let me know, I'll be over in January the wife, kids and dogs over mid Feb, with the shipping taking up to 6 weeks it would work for us time wise.

Like I've said just an idea.

Ian

that's a darn good idea Ian!!!!!

the girls could get a house at the bayside on a 6 month lease, and then when their house is ready, you can take over the lease.

only problem would be if you guys arrived before their house was ready......

Hey, thanks for the replies,
It sounds like a great idea to rent for 6 months and then someone take over the lease, but I don't have a clue about how easy that is or anything.
We are still looking into the hope of finding someplace that will allow us to stay there for a month with the dog, but to be honest we're constantly hitting a brick wall.
We're now holding out hope that the lovely Claire (Jonah's Mummy) will be able to help. Fingers crossed or we are going to be royally screwed for an entire month! Eek!!!!
It's not even just having the dog that's the problem to be honest, it's more that most places are booked up and that most want a minimum 3 months or 6 months rental.
Trying not to panic too much yet.
Will keep you updated.
Thanks!
Tracy

Hi Guys, if anyone is interested in renting a 1 bed Apt in Benowa on a month to month basis pls let me know. Sadly the details came a tad too late for the KarmaGirls.

If it's the off season some appartments will let you have longer than few weeks lease but may not be keen on dog.
