Default Help please...new passport details

Hi everyone,

Please can someone help

I have just renewed my hubbies and my daughters passport as they are due to expire in the next few months, and I have decided to renew them in the UK before we leave for Oz

We are moving early September, and I am not sure what I need to do as regards to transferring their visa's

Should I complete the 929 form and send it off (can I send it to London, or does it need to go to Oz, it says nearest office but only shows details for Oz offices), will there be enough time for this as we travel in 8 weeks?

I have also read that if a passport has expired you can still use your existing visa as long as you carry both passports? I was a little worried about this as when you provide your advanced passenger information which would be the new passport then it would flag up to the airline that we have no visa if we havent transferred them, and the airline may not allow us to fly?

Any help on this would be very gratefully received, dont want to start our new life down under with a disaster if they wont let us in lol!!

Thanks

C

Carry both. No problem whatsoever. Once you arrive you can go into your nearest DIAC and have a new sticker put in the new passport immediately but it's not 100% necessary, just convenient.
