Default help please

hi all
any help or information will be gratefully received.
im presently living in nz with my wife and kids and spent all our savings getting here. WA really appeals to us as NZ just isnt what we thought.
I am a skilled engineer and looking for the quickest and cheapest way to move over.
To get a visa do i need to have a job offer, or are the state sponsered visas worth going for, also where is the best place to find work on the net please for people that havent got visas yet.

Many thanx for any replies

we are here on work visas until 2010, but yes if we applied for residency which would take 2 years then another 5 to get citizenship then we would be free to move over, unfortunately we really dont fancy staying here another 7 years.
thanx tho for the info and ive also put a copy of this thread into the immi one
cheers
