Help with perth suburbs
Hello,
What areas do people recomend in Perth? We are a couple in our late twenties moving over there soon and have been looking at Secret Harbour, Fremantle and Rockingham with interest, but we are keen to find out other people's opinions about these places or any other suburbs which may be nice?
Is it that the further away you go from Perth thecheaper the house prices? And, if working in Perth city, how far away would you be ale to live with a fairly accesible commute on a daily basis?
Any help would be really appreciated,
Thankyou,
Jen and Paul

If it's just the two of you ie no kids, I'd say that Rocky and Secret Harbour would be too quiet for you. House prices this way aren't exactly a lot cheaper these days either. Personally I'd stay closer to the CBD/Freo

Hi to you both,
We live in Leeming 15/20 mins drive from city, right on new train line into city in 11 mins and soon down to Mandurah, getting more expensive as opening of train line will push up prices but brill for comuting, freo brill and secret harbour quite a lot further down train line.
Good luck with what ever you decide

Hi, we are a couple (just turned 30) and found that a lot of the outlying places like secret harbour looked just to quiet, theres not much out there.
I would say go for somewhere closer to the city theres some nice places just 15mins drive that are nice and quiet, have nice houses and yet if you want a night out theres plenty of cinemas, restuarnts, pubs and clubs.
A lot of it depends on the indervidual street. We are living in Dianella now which is nice as its got a massive shopping complex but is 15-20mins from city
Victoria park is also ok, never had any trouble there and its quiet cheap
cheers
