help with a medical condition
hello everyone ,we are new to this site would just like a little help if poss. we are in the early stages our tra application has just been sent everything is looking good ,the question we have is has anyone got there visa approved with a medical condition, our 6 year old daughter suffers from juvenile arthritis which is kept under control with the medication she is on she is a fit and healthy child in every way,the main reason we are going to australia is for our kids especially for a warmer climate for our daughter . we do have an agent who has been honest with us from the start and before he would take any money from us he told us there was a chance we might not get in as it all comes down to costs and to put it mildly whether or not our daughter is going to be a burden on australia. we would just like to here from anyone who has been in a simular situation , thanks for taking the time to read this . michelle and fam x

Re: help with a medical condition
Hi Michelle, Im pretty sure I remember someone on here asking about juvenile arthritis before, if you click on search at the top of the page & put juvenile arthritis in you may find the thread.
Apart from that Im not really much help, although I do know a couple of people on here who's children have had medical conditions or some form of disability that have visa's, so there is hope, I guess your agent will probably know best.
Good luck with it .

Michelle,
Try this thread:

My brother is in the process of submitting his TRA. He is now 38 but has had rheumatoid arthritis since he was 6.
His agent has said that there should be no problems with him getting a visa, although I admit he isn't on any medication at the moment.
Welcome to BE by the way
Good Luck.

You may want to contact Peter Bollard - http://users.bigpond.net.au/onk/
He gets mentioned a lot in the Immigration Forum, as an agent/solicitor who deals with cases with medical problems.
I know you said that you've already submitted your visa application, but with Peter's advice you may be able to send some additional documents/statements.
With medical conditions, it is important *how* the condition is presented.
You have nothing to lose by contacting him.

These threads are for rheumatoid arthritis. Juvenile arthritis is a different condition, with different treatment and a different prognosis.

Our meds were collected by courier from the panel doc this morning so are now winging their way to Sydney. Everything else is done and we've been told it should be about 6 weeks till visa grant.
