Hi can someone tell me whats the best form of transport to get from Brisbane International Airport down to Mermaid Beach. I will be coming over to Queensland at the end of October and I was wondering if its worth hiring a car from Brisbane International or hire one downtown or to catch a bus or take a taxi??? I have no idea bud and would gladly help you if I could........been on this site for a while now and every section is a totally different animal..........only the past week or so have I been looking at the Aus forum and noticed that people who have very few posts or have no stars and karma next to their name don't get much attention........I hope someone will find the time to help you......good luck

I would suggest hiring a car - taxi would cost a bomb. There are some coach companies that run that way I think.

Might get a better response if the title was clearer = "Transport to Mermaid Beach" maybe? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ignored this post cos of the title - not cos you're a newbie

cant help you with how to get to Mermaid beach but I did hire a car in Brisbane and used eastcoast car rental and they were the cheapest one I could find - I priced up everyone and they were at least $200 cheaper! I had a brand new hyundai getz with 6kms on the clock when I picked it up. Would highly recommend them. They do have a 200km radius that you can take the car to so no driving to cairns or sydney but it was perfect for everything I needed to see and do.
