Hi.

I am currently pursuing a route into NZ under the general skills category.

I have tried one agency (Malcolm Pacific).

I came fairly close on the points system but the problem seems to be that although I am an I.T specialist which is an in demand skill, apparently my main qualification needs to be in I.T as well.

I have an HND in business and finance and a Post Graduate Certificate in Infromation Systems.

Can anyone offer advice on what to do next ?

Should I get the Certificate assessed by the NZQA ?

What do you do in IT.
ITANZ will review your skills against a job offer, and if appropriate will provide you with a letter of support to go with your application.

I am also in IT working in e-commerce. You need to have three years experiance in IT or the right quals.

My current role is 'Technical Business manager'.

This involves leading a team of programmers maintaining and developing systems responsible for the provision and integrity of geospatial data.

Current technical skills include Oracle related i.e. PL/SQL, Forms, Developer/designer 2000.

I have been working in I.T. for 14 years.

You mention ITANZ. I haven't heard of them before. I take it they can be contacted via the web.
