Help- before I go mad!
Can someone help!
My computer is making a stange noise everytime a click a link! It's like a loud plopping noise..driving me slowly mad. Thought it was the pop-up stopper but I have disabled that and it's still here!

Your posting has reminded me that mine did that a couple of months ago.....It must have just stopped on its own as I forgot all about it....bloody annoying at the time......bit like having a nervous tic!!!!

Try going into Control Panel, then Sound & Multimedia, then select "Windows Default" in the drop down box named "Scheme" and click on the OK button.
Now try again and it should have cleared it up

still have 'the noise'
Shite it's still there - even turned the sound off

Are you sure it's not Pop-up-Stopper?
if you press CTRL button & press the 'Speaker' button next to the 'ON/OFF' button this should disable the Sounds POS makes when it stops a window popping up.
