I need help? Skilled Migration
I hope you can help. I am worried about the press release mid April 04.
See:
In summary
'From 1 July, qualified people who want to come to Australia as skilled migrants will be able to obtain a three-year temporary residents visa if they commit to living and working in regional Australia. After two years they will be able to apply for permanent residency.' The Australian Government would also implement measures to reduce migration to Sydney.
I am applying for skilled migration-independent. I am at stage where I have submitted, police, medicals etc. start april and expect visa in next few months. I was planning to goto Sydney next year with a perm res. Now I am worried I wil get a temp and have to go to regional aus.
Any comments.

Could be wrong but if you have already lodged your app then I would have thought that any new changes would affect applications after the change.
As I said, I could be wrong but what I would have thought.

The Skilled Independant Regional visa is a completely different kettle of fish, aimed at those (basically) who don't meet the increased requirements for Skilled Independant.

My advice to you as well, I wouldn't put your email address in the body of your thread.
Unless you want to be trawled by a Web Bot and end up with even more spam, porn and other useless crap in your inbox.
