Default Hello from UK Midwife!

Hello

I am currently researching the move from UK to Australia and have stumbled across this site!

I was just wondering if there are any midwives around to chat about their working life and how it compares to the UK? I have read articles but nothing beats a conversation with real people

We are predominantly looking to settle in Perth, however I am more than happy to consider anywhere in Aus. We have four children currently aged 6 to 13.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, welcome to BE! You will find lots of useful things here. I am a UK midwife but now in Australia (Visa granted in October). Firstly I would advise checking that midwives are still on the skills list as last time I checked (last March) they had been taken off.

Always happy to help if you have any questions x

See if you can get in touch with this lady, she delivered our last born at home 20 years back here in Melbourne and has gone on to be a leader in the midwife homebirthing movement here in Melbourne. I think we were one of her first Aussie Clients, seeing as we had the previous 3 all home births and we were able to give her some really good contacts and help pave the way for her future.. Looks like she has gone from strength to strength.

Fantastic lovely person, really down to earth and just so warm.
