Hello from Tasmania
Hi everyone,
Well at long last we are on the internet. We arrived in Tasmania 7 weeks ago and have not regretted a thing about leaving England.
Since arriving we have bought a house, a car, and a puppy, pommie one though English Springer Spaniel. We have bought a house overlooking a bay and the 7 mile Beach close to Hobart and the airport.
Our furniture arrives tomorrow, so we are really excited about seeing all our things again as we brought everything out with us. The people in Tasmania are some of the most friendliest I have ever come across they cannot do enough to help us. Our daughter started school 4weeks ago and is having the time of her life, she loves the place, we have no regrets what so ever.
As for employment, we have been having a holiday since arriving but are just about to start looking as for high unemployment there seems to be plenty of jobs about, if you dont mind what u do, then there are lots of options.
By the way, we bought a fridge over here whilst we wait for ours, guess what the gas inside is R134a same as the one we have being delivered tomorrow so I hope that answers the gas problem in fridges. We have had no problem at all with customs on our kit and we brought a 40ft container
Anyway, ill sign off now, and do some more painting before my stuff arrives tomorrow, take care everyone and good luck with the visas

Hi Chris,
Glad things are going so well - I'm sooo jealous, you're in such a beautiful spot!
I always reckoned the Tasmanians were really friendly, thats part of what makes it such a lovely place.
Good luck with the unpacking and keep us posted
