Hello All
Just wanted to say hi to everyone - i've been lurking here for a week or so and thought it was about time i joined in!
A little bit about us - I'm Karen, part-time teacher (really should be planning for next term - but can't think about anything else at the moment...)
Other half Darren (karenjc - wait till you see our kids names!) is an engineer.
Kids - Elizabeth 5yrs and Joshua 3yrs.
First thought of emmigrating years ago, but the family issue was always a difficult one for me.
Since then we have lived in the USA for 4 years (with hubbie's job). We loved it but actually got on better with the Aussie's we were working with than the Americans (it's a sense of humour thing mostly). Anyway I found that I could cope with living in another country, especially with communications improving all the time.
Settling back here has not been easy - and every few months we would have discussions about what to do next. A job came up in Oz through his work which he just missed out on, but then that set us thinking.
So we have signed up with an agent and made a start!
Have been told it could take 18 months, which seems such a long time right now........................
Anyway that's us!

Re: Hello All
Hi - I have been lurking too for a few months and this is the first time I have contributed. I am a part time teacher also and we have just submitted our 136 application (husband is an IT consultant). We seem to be getting very mixed messages about how long it will all take but hopefully by Xmas 2006 we will be in oz!
We also have two kids Georgina 5 and Oliver 2.
