We had a great life in the UK, but I wouldn't change this for a million bucks. We love it here. Is it perfect? Of course not, but it's a hell of a lot better for us that the UK.
I feel sorry for all those who are really unhappy, but there is a simple way to fix that

If you can make more money in the UK, do you intend to remain or return? I would find if I moved to the UK a) it is more expensive to live there, and b) I would be making the same or less than what I make now, with totally different working conditions.

Alot of things change, even from day to day. If you only came for the money, maybe you made a mistake, as alot of migrants also come here for the change in lifestyle, both for them and their families. What $value were you told that you could earn?

And its an entirely hypothetical question, and like most hypothetical questions, it leads to a fair bit of navel contemplating with not much resulting. Similar to "If you were a premiership footballer which member of 'Girls Aloud' would you knob first?"
Nothing can ever be exactly the same; life can't be put into reverse.

Life just isn't that simple.
