I am a builder, and one of the many reasons I am emigrating is, although I have work here, I can't buy land in this area to build. Good luck with your application. Slater    |

Re: Tina
Originally posted by tinaj We have 3 children and no family in Aus. We told most of our family last Christmas and they took it in varying ways. From tears to support. Luckily they are all behind us now. In fact my mother-in-law wants to join us! I am hoping to bring my Mum out April next year and I pray that she likes it. I would like her to join us on a retirement visa, I don't like the thought of her here on her own. She is really upset about her only Grandchildren leaving, but understands that we want a different sort of life to what we have here. We visited nearly a year ago now and loved The Sunshine Coast area, around Caloundra, Maroochydore way. We will rent for 6/12 months and then probably buy land and build. I am sure it will all happen sooner than you expect we applied last Oct expected at least a year and had meds/police requests after 5 months. We got our visas a couple of weeks ago. We aim to leave at the end of Dec/ Jan. Hoping to save up some money, sell the house, resign etc before then. Keep in touch you can always pm me. Tina I have it the other way round. We are the parents, and we are going to Australia, leaving our eldest daughter, husband grand-daughter and new baby due in September, and I feel so bad about leaving them behind. My daughter would come like a flash, but her husband is a Farmer here and has a farm that has been passed down through generations. I am hoping and praying that when they come out to see us next year, he will want to come aswell, but I want it to be their decision. I plan to make sure that they love their stay in Oz, and will have my fingers, toes, legs crossed that it will make him decide in my favour. If they don't, it will be a great blow for us, and I am not sure how I will feel. The word devastated comes to mind. To have them there would make our move complete. Sue |
Originally posted by tinaj Welcome to the site! The first thing you need to do is put Pommie Bastard, Wilf and Dotty amonst others on your ignore list. Do not read any threads that they have posted as they might offend/ upset you. Tina I find some of your posts incredibly naive, however I do not advise people not to read your posts. Why dont you look up "forum", particularly forum for people living in OZ which is where I live, so too does PBetc. |

All they want to hear are the endless positives, and if anybody posts differetly then they are just 'failures' etc etc. All a bit tiresome really.... |

Mark
thanks for that Mark,
yes mark can tape & joint but prefers to solid plaster! i've heard alot of good stuff about Ian Harrop, we're using Global Visas, very thorough indeed but hopefully will be worth it! thanks again  rach & mark |

A good friend of mine has left for Brisbane 3 months ago, she has just bought a house and got the kids in good schools, despite a bit of a lonely start she has mainly posative things to say so far, apart from the red back she shared the shower with!! Good luck with it all, patience is the word, sadly. Suz |

Hi Rach
I see you are also from Dorset! Which part are you in? I lived in Parkstone and Canford Heath before moving to Florida. I think there is someone on this forum who lives in Hamworthy (sorry, can't remember the name) maybe you could hook up with them? Good luck with the visa, my hubby got his last month so now we are really starting to panic! Wannabe Wallaby |
