Wasn't planning to dismantle as that will involve re-mantling (!) and I want to avoid that (unless the shipping company does it?).
Prices here in Singapore are about the same as Aus, but delivery is a lot cheaper and the assembly service is fab. When my son was born we had all his furniture assembled for about $30 and it took 2 guys about 2 hours. A real bargain.

Hang on - transportation of Ikea products - don't they have any convicts these days?

Our Billy bookcase arrived fine. The removal guys in the UK said to leave all the shelves in it for extra strength and they taped them in and wrapped the whole bookcase up. So much stronger than Argos rubbish!
You've nothing to lose by bringing them.

What bits are you talking about? Can't you just use nails and superglue?
If it's the bits of dowling you're after, just buy a length of wooden dowel the right thickness and cut to size. The fasteners may be available in Bunnings. They're not specific to ikea.
Cheers

Bunnings have also the fixing that IKEA bunks use. We looked a while back.
So you should find them.

Tip search world wide for really obscure bits.

May I humbly suggest http://www.ebay.com.au/. It's amazing the amount of "completely unavailable mate, can't buy those anymore, nobody ever wants 'em, stopped making 'em years ago mate" bits you can find on there.
