Sure hope that you aren't getting worked up about the meds, like we were. They are a breeze, and just like a regular visit to the docs. We are a family of 4 (2 teenage kids included) and we were in and out in just over an hour.
So as my eldest would say, 'sit back an take a chill pill'

They seemed very thorough, previous Doctors had to provide reports for every op I have ever had but got through fine.
Good luck

We are a family of 5,we are all healthy except my hubby is awaiting a specialist to look at his discs in back.
A neuro surgeon is going to look at it and assess if he can help sort them out.
He hasn't little flexibility at the mo,so wouldn't fair well with that part of the med but this surgeon may actually beable to perform a op to sort it out.
Would dimia look with doubt on this possibility or will they see someone who is sorting himself out before he comes over and therefore be in his favour to be seen to be actively seeking a solution?

I had no problems, but my husband had a liver diesease when he was a baby, leaving him with a slightly hardened liver. The doctor commented on this in the original meds and DIMIA (after a 6 week wait of course) requested another visit to the doctors. We had to take a sealed envelope with us ... the doctor opened it and ... he couldn't do the additional report as it needed a specialist. We then went to Leeds as it was the nearest approved specialist to us (we lived in Lincoln) and he did a report. We took along copies of all of Andrew's medical notes, so that he could look at the history.
6 weeks later our visa was granted and we have been living here since Easter, and loving it!

Basically the medical is trying to sort out do you have any problems which might now or in the future cost the Aus Government for medical or support treatment. The usual limit discussed is $20K per annum but this is not set in stone.
So for example if it likely that your husbands back will fuse and render him disabled then they may look further into his case. Know what the current prognosis is and check it does not talk about long term disability and care or costly treatment and drugs. Present you case for the medical in the best possible light and I am sure you will not have undue problems.
My daughter failed her medical and we had a long, ardous and very emotional journey to get to Aus. Her case was partial deafness and as she was at school they believed her care would cost in excess of the 20K limit. Lucky for us that is in the past now. I was able to make a case for a review cause I was in Aus and my case is not normal so I cannot offer specific help. Possibly a decent migration agent with dealing in this area could offer you more advice.
Good Luck and don't let it get you down with worry, maybe get your doctors and specialist current details and prognosis sorted before you go to the medical. If they do not like what they see they send it to the Aus Medical Authority and they make a ruling on the case.
Cheers Sandra

Lynn. Am sure you will be fine. They are not really looking for stuff like that although they will probably want the second opinion.
My only nightmare was forgetting to take my passport :scared: Luckily hubby came with me and whilst I had the x ray, med and sat for half an hour, he drove like a nutter home and back for it. Not impressed but the med was simple

Should i be worrying?

Lots of complications Yes, failed, No.
I don't think you will fail on an eye test, I don't think you should be panicing.
Good Luck.
