Moved over 2 years ago. Right thing to do at time. Great experience. Love the family feel to everything and expecting number 3 in a few weeks. Still not sure how it will work out professionally for hubby so will play a part in future decisions. Don't want to return to UK right now but something missing for us here and have decide how to balance all parts of life and which areas we will comprise on.

Cant answer poll.

Family has 5 people, you could give a different answer for all of them

I think thats what people dont take into account, often Australia is one persons dream ( or previous home in our case ) the hard bit is getting everyone else to agree on it all.

Plus peoples ideas on it change, 2 yrs ago our eldest son loved aus, now him and Austrailan girlfriend cannot beat a path out of Australia quick enough.

It works for some and not others but as a youngish single bloke it is not he place for me anymore, glad I came and made some good freinds and had some great times but there is so much I miss about the UK that I am going home in a couple of months.
Theres 1.1 million People born in the UK living in OZ so the place can't be that bad otherwise most of them would go home.

Thats right......there are so many over here.......trouble is what i've found with this site over the yrs is that there are some people that can't be happy with the fact that oz did'nt work out and leave it at that...... they've got to continually slag it off/make excuses(some not all).......putting helmet on as i speak.....

Different, I can see. Don't see any reason for why it would be better. What's your rationale?

Are you sure? I thought it was about 1 million living abroad. Although the UK has the lion's share of these there is also a large contingent in Greece.

On the flip-side. According to the UK pension service there are 15m Brits living abroad despite the greener grass

well I'm very happy, thank you very much.

Poll results so far show 17.5% unhappy, 10% one partner is happy, one is unhappy, with the balance 72.5% being "happy".

Is it reasonable to suggest that the move to Australia will be successful for 3 out of every 4 families/individuals?
