Half life in Aus half in UK

Re: Half life in Aus half in UK
Sorry, I generally consider you by far the best amateur visa helpers I have come across. But this is incorrect. I am a mod on one of the large Australian visa forums (you can probably guess which) and we have seen a number of no further stay conditions on 600 visas. In fact my next door neighbour did. Brit parents whose kids and grand kids lived a few doors away. Did 600 for a couple of years then got a sudden no further stay.
To the OP, what you are proposing is a big gamble. If you get a no further stay, then what?

They would simply return to UK and apply for another visa. Of course repeated use over many years MAY become an issue, they seem to be tightening up a lot.

As in UK, there are a number of absent land lords living abroad in Australia, but many as well do not rent, just keep the house for own family and leave in pristine condition.
I suspect it would greatly depend on location as to how feasible renting during the Aussie winter would indeed be. A six month maximum allowed rental stay may influence outcomes to a certain extent as well. You would be taxed on first dollar earned and remember travel to inspect a rental property is no longer tax deductable within the Australian taxation system.
Your mind appears set on Australia, just remember at one stage with advancing age the travel between the countries will likely appear less appealing.
House prices in Australia are very high so inner city prices will not be cheap. Deduct rates, water bills agency fees, repair bills and periods of being not leased into the equation.
I speak from some experience renting out a few properties in EU. There can be a long smooth run, and then problems after problem seem to arise.
Renting out always far, far easier when either in the same country, or at least have easy access to country where location is.
