Hi
I,ve just arrived on an independant skills visa as a hairdresser and want to go mobile. I cant buy any trade products without being registered. I recieved my skill certificate from the Trade Assessment board but then had to send it to Adelaide. How do I now get registered over here?

Any help and advice gratefully received.

Find the nearest TAFE (college of Technical and Further Education). Most hairdressers are trained at TAFEs these days and they should know all the relevant stuff about employment.

Hi all,

we (hubby + 3) are hopefully gonna be arriving in Brisbane May time next year. we have our visas...hubby was the applicant. my question is...I have done a hairdressing apprenticeship all be it many moons ago and would like to take it up again when we get to oz. Trouble is I have no apprenticeship papers to prove it....my boss at the time wasn't very hot on it! My aim was to do a refresher course in oz and then get work. Does anyone know if having no papers is gonna be a problem??

Then email them. All educational institutions have people to answer these questions (it's in their interest if you are a prospective student).
