Being a person not living in England I don't understand how your system works. If you say you have sold your house, but the buyer can then pull out what does "have sold the house" mean? Does it mean no contract has been signed yet? That one makes an oral agreement or what? Sounds confusing

Hi All
Thanks for your replies, feeling stronger today,

We have been in contact with the estate agents, house is back on the market, but if no interest in a week then we are getting a housing developer in, and a housing association dealer, we are willing now to take a lower price, we have to validate our visas by 19th June so will be out in 28th may, everything is set ready for going, but if the developers don't give us a too good a price then we can postpone them, keep convincing ourselves that a least we have that all important visa. especially after waiting 19 months for it!!!!!!

Sashimi maybe I should have said sold subject to contract, she made an offer we accepted, all the surveyors reports were ok, she was very happy when she came round to measure up for curtains etc, she wanted details of doctors, dentists, had a cup of tea with us, spoke alot about the area what she wanted left and what she didn't want left in the house. Everything was ok, we signed the contract on wednesday, due to exchange on the friday, but she pulled out instead, in the uk even if you sign the contract you can still pull out of a sale, you just lose the deposit. Apparently the first time buyers who were buying her property have now pulled out, they have been waiting for her to find a property since last august, she has pulled out of a house sale 3 times before us, wish we had known that in the beginning.

will keep you all informed
thanks again

Hi Yve,

thanks for clearing that up. I hope you have less problems with your next buyer and that you don't have to wait for too long until he/she comes along.

Hi yve

So sorry to hear your news, it is so heartbreaking. We were in the same situation last year and I was fuming, it certainly makes you do things differently after you have been let down. Hang on in there it will sell, and your plans for the future will be once again nearer. Good luck with everything.

Jan :-)

Afraid I know how you feel,Yve.
We were let down last year you may recall,by people who dissapeared once money was needed.Turned out they couldn't afford it in the first place.Boy Blair needs to sort out buying cottages more straight forward rather than making cottaging with 16 year olds legal.
You'll now see loads of posts from people saying how their house will sell in 2 minutes flat coz the estate agent told them.
We're waiting to exchange any day now,and the buyers are still trying to get more for their money-once theyfind out your emigrating, they assume your desperate.(Some think Mrs BB must be once they meet me)

chin up and other patronising useless comments that you get in these situations
