I'm a fellow Guinness admirer myself
I'll second the 'Bearded Dragon'....my favourite and one of the most 'pubby' Pubs I've been to here.
I'll also throw in to the pot 'The Drift Inn'/Harrigans at Calypso Bay.....where the Guinness was actually better BUT the overall ambience plus the presense of the black stuff won the vote.

P.S Infact my Avatar was taken at 'The Bearded Dragon' a few months back :0)

The main problem with the guinness in pubs over here is that a lot of times when you go for a pint you are the first person or only person drinking it and the crap that goes in the glass has been sat in the pipes for hours.................................yuk
:eek :
The more people that drink it the better it will get so the odds are if you find somewhere where there are many people drinking it (Irish pubs mainly) you should get a good pint.
The best place we have had guinness was Finnbars Place in Maleny but it is run by an Irishman on the lines of a traditional tiny irish bar (like somebody's front room!) and the live music and craic were excellent.
Avoid the places where they pour guinness from a can into the glass and then 'activate' it by putting it on a special thing that zaps it with sound or something equally crap

Well I'd have to say that the black stuff doesnt work so well in Aus but the best pint Ive had was from D'Arcey Arms on the Gold Coast highway in Surfers.

I was here for last Paddy's day, good craic too. Ok so its not Brissie but what the heck.

The Bowls Club on Discovery Drive in Helensvale.
My friend drinks it all the time and I am partial to one now and again.
The pumps get a fair amount of use so its "fresh" and its a nice pint.
