Thinking of driving the Great Ocean Road soon. Anyone done this and know of any good stop-offs along the way? Any info/stories will be appreciated.

The whole drive is geared up to tourists so you cant go far without passing pubs, restaurants, cafes been down there several times you cant go wrong really. Pick sunny blustery weather for the most atmosphere, the beaches can produce spectactular waves breaking and swell. Forget it in rain can be too gusty to get out of car. Great drive Victorias coastline is some of the most scenic.

There are a lot of good stop-offs. We did it twice, stopping at every tourist spots (clearly marked by brown signs), and loved it. We only counted 8 apostles. Both time we went on the GOR, we stayed a night at a B&B at Port Fairy.

Enjoy your trip. Agree with above poster - pick a sunny day for the drive.
