Default GP to Adelaide

Hi,
I have reading through the threads and found this forum very helpful to their members.
I got a job in Adelaide(Elizabeth/Paralowie) and am starting off with the application process for the AMC registration. I have a family with 2 children aged 2yrs and 6yrs.
As discussed in other threads, I feel its better to book holiday homes for few weeks and then rent a house, while I am there.

I would like to know where to find holiday homes for 2-3 wks, which areas are nice to stay and commutable from my surgery. I am arranging schooling at St Peters.
Thanks

Stayz Holiday Accommodation - 39,000+ Holiday Rentals across Australia is a good place to start. Good luck with the AMC process, be prepared for plenty of frustrations. Things that you think should be simple and quick can take forever!

Thanks DML for your help and info.

Do you think 2 wks accommodation would be sufficient to rent a property after reaching there.

With regards to shipping household items, I was reading somewhere in the threads that Fridge/freezer -- creon gas has to be removed. How to find out whether it has Creon -- I have a Beko Fridge/freezer, which I was planning to ship if its hasslefree.

Thanks

I thought this was a thread about the Grand Prix moving from Melbourne to Adelaide from whence it came. Good luck for your move.

I didn't have any trouble shipping the fridge freezer - leave it up to the removal company.

If you need to commute to Elizabeth, you may want to look at areas like Gawler for rentals which would keep the travelling down.

Not sure where St. Peters school is though. Might be better to live local to that

That was the only one I could find as well. That would be a good hour or more drive from Gawler in the mornings although there is a train line.

Don't know the suburbs that well, but you are going to want to come south if you plan on the kids attending that school. Either way, there's going to be a lot of travelling involved.
