well the sold sign has gone up on the house (only took 8 weeks to sell) the buyer are not in a chain and have the morgage ready so it looks like 2 months for it all to be over and done with

so why do i keep getting this sinking feeling at the bottom of my stomach everytime i think of moving, should be really excited but reality is hitting home

anyone else feel like this at this stage

I'm getting the feeling of deja vu! Sounds almost exactly the same as us. We are due to exchange contracts at the end of the month and rather than feeling excited all I can think of is just how much we still seem to have to do. I think it's because us ladies seem to bear the brunt of all the organising as "your sooo much better at that sort of thing". Or is it just in my house......no I don't think so.

Just try and keep positive and remember all the time and effort that has gone into getting you this far.

Best Wishes and hope the move goes smoothly

Sally

Is the sinking feeling because you're unsure whether you're doing the right thing or is it because you've got a hell of a lot to do now?

Yeah we felt like that. It was a bit of a roller coaster really. One minute we'd be thinking great were nearly there and the next minute we'd be thinking sh*t were nearly there.

Its a big thing so expect all the emotions. Don't expect to end anytime soon as you'll be on that roller coaster for a good few months yet.

That's just how I feel, one minute I cant wait and get really excited, the next I feel really down.

Last week I felt really miserable thinking about leaving family etc. This week I am all for it and can't wait.

Our emotions are all over the place but the good thing is most people seem to feel this way. We just have to accept that it is going to be like this for some time.

Hi Arlene

I've been feeling exactly the same as you! We are in the same position, sold our house about 4 weeks ago, we've got our visa and yet I still feel miserable some days and elated the next? Weird things going on in my head at the mo!:scared:

I think it's the fact that slowly but surely you're packing up your life and sooner or later you will feel like you don't exist because you'll be homeless, no keys, no car, no job, nothing - zilch......:scared:

But then tomorrow I'll be skipping around the room, planning our new life into the unknown..

I know it's not just women and their hormones, hubby feels just like me too!:D :D

Hi Arlene,
We are not even at that stage yet, and I get that `sinking feeling`. I think it is definately natural, but is it also a `woman `thing?
Any answers, any blokes feel like this?

ScuntoBris Mar 4th 2004 8:17 pm

Sitting at the airport, waiting for the plane..... Mixed emotions!!!

However all is rosy at present, now we are here.
