Good Recruitment Agencies - Brissie
This is probably a complete contradiction in terms - "Good" and "Recruitment" but has anyone dealt with any goodies in Brisbane who look after office support/secretarial?
Any to avoid - you can PM this to save you getting your ass sued :scared:

M, try Select.

I used to use their tele-resources section (they only had 2 back then!) for temping & found them very good at the time.

As you say 'good' and 'recruitment agent' can be a problem, especially seeing as the truly good ones seem to have the same problem as us with finding a 'good' employer and so oftentimes they've moved on by the time you next go back to them. However, most admin agencies in Brissie seem to look after their temps these days insofar as the 'little' things are concerned. You know, the choccie eggs at Easter, flower on Valentine's Day, soap at Christmas, that kind of thing.
There seems to be more temp work at times than permanent, but that's the way companies are going nowadays - take on as 'temp' for three months or similar then offer a permanent job, due to the difficulties of getting rid of the idiots now (industrial relations laws).
Some of those I've used in relatively recent times:
Select - OK
Susan Sole (specialises in legal staff) - OK
Slade - not so brilliant
Robert Walters (formerly Dunhill) - OK
Turner Gavin - not so brilliant
Ambit (IT) - OK
and I've heard OK things about Hays and Hudson.
They all seem to go in swings and roundabouts, but I think keeping an eye on Seek will give you an idea of who seems to be popular in the marketplace at the moment.

Hi There
I have used only spoken to two recruitment agencies, managed to get a job through one of then having been here about 3 weeks at the time (sounds like I have been here years, but only been here 6 weeks). Anyhow, they are:
Chandler Macleod, located in the ANZ building in Brissie, and Carrol Consulting Group (not sure what building they are in).
I have sent you a PM with names and email addresses.
Hope it helps.
Cheers G

For office and secretarial Hallis are the top of the tree.
Its always worth trying specialist agencies for a particular industry e.g. Telecoms - they are often asked for office employees, if you call at the right time you are on a winning ticket as competition will be scarce.
Found Adecco, IPA and Hays to be average
Manpower were terrible but I believe they have replaced their perms consultant.
