Still think he has left himself too much to do in the time trial, he will have to dig very deep for this one. Could be his last chance though, getting a little old, has come second, twice.

Can't wait for tonights coverage - a nanna nap this afternoon so that I can stay up. Awsome

Awesome performance - stage 19 is where he won this and deserved to. The time trial was formality for him ... Amazing grit he really deserved this year.

He's a prick. Not coming to the TDU because 'it would upset his TDF preparations' is about as un-Australian as you can get.

The first Australian to win the tour, and possibly, according to a chat show on TV this morning, the most significant achievement by an Australian athlete ever. There is even talk of making the day a public holiday. Yeah, what a prick.

Apparently, he's a really nice guy too. Humble, a hard worker and is involved in charitable causes. Bloody well deserved win I say.

Good luck to him but lets not lose track of the fact that it's a pushbike race. He is NOT a hero, he is someone who rides a bike for lots of money. A public holiday
Says it all about the ridiculous emphasis we put on sport in this country, it's crazy.

Says the person who created a thread to congratulate Lewis Hamilton on his F1 win! If it had been a British person who won you would have been all over it like a bloody rash.

Exactly, did you read the thread ? I'm guessing you didn't. I said he is just a fast car driver, not a hero, he won a race, end of story.
