"Obscene" presumably being defined as earning more than you do? By your standards my salary is obscene - but then I've spent the last 45 years getting to the point where people think I'm worth it.

An 'obscene' salary is paying a CEO several million a year plus bonuses whilst the company is losing money.

Unfortunately 'saving lives' is considered to be a public service, and governments hate spending money on public servants when it is far better used paying for overseas trips for politicians.

Nothing in life is fair. Some highly skilled people on here can't even find a job never mind earn a decent crust. How many times do we hear it's not what you know, but who you know.

Life sucks sometimes. Suck it up or change.

I used to get fed up listening to teachers moan about their pay. They knew what the pay scale was when they started training to be a teacher. And I used to think obscene pay was paid to sales people who have little or no technical training but instead just have the gift of the gab, meanwhile engineers were underpaid. Things seem a bit more evened out here.

Exactly. If someone don't like it then change, move on, do something different. Whinging and whining aint gonna give an extra payrise.
