Default Gold Coast 'vs' Sunshine Coast 'vs' Brisbane Suburbs

I'm sure this has been done to death, but here again - what the hell

We are moving to Queensland, when we get our business visa. We will be doing a recky trip but was wondering what the differences were between the three areas, scenery, towns outside the cities, business prospects and general differences.

Regards

Mark

Brisbane suburbs, city close by, busy, traffic, anything you want you can get, short commute to major centre.

Gold Coast - high crime, glitzy, tourist driven, lots of things to do.

Sunshine Coast - parts are sleepy backwater, parts are like the Gold Coast, further from Brisbane, nice beaches, not as built up as the GC.

On a post card .

We want to be in a medium sized town with all thge amenities, but small enough to have a character of its own.

We want medium to high value homes....no council estates I can say this and get away with it, coz I was brought (dragged) up on one.

I am not expecting zero crime, but pretty low.

Hope this helps.

Why not drive half hour south of Goldcoast.....dare i say it......across the border.
Nice beaches , restaurants , housing.....etc....nowhere near the traffic.
Lots of small town /village type places like Kingcliff, potsville,Byron bay , Casarina.....and on and on.....
Tweed city 10 mins away...lots of shops, business areas etc.

Just a thought plum

I asked the same question to my Brother-In-Law who has lived in QLD since he was 11 and is a big surfing fan. The Gold Coast has developed hugely in the last 10 years and the infrastructure is faily sound, with a lot of large companies that have moved there from other areas.

The Sunshine Coast is very beautiful but is behind The Gold Coast in it's Infrastructure. Many areas such as Byron Bay, Kingscliff (where I have an investment propety at Salt) is much the same, it relys on tourism, and construction, there is little else at the moment, but give it another 5 or so years and it will be excellent for business.

Hope this helps

Let me know when you get here, my printer's churning out the pages with black soot like effect on them

I could say Brisbane Bayside is best, but it may not be the best area for getting work
